Having overcome major unforeseen site and environmental issues we are delighted to have commenced construction of the new primary care centre in Benllech. Designed to accommodate both Health Board and primary care services, completion of the building in the summer 2016 will see the Gerafon Surgery finally move from their existing outdated buildings and portacabins.
The new centre provides 943 sqm of modern fit for purpose space, improved accessibility and patient parking directly linked to the surgery. The development will transform working conditions for the surgery staff and the patient environment. The health professionals will now be able to expand and enhance services provided to the locality for the benefit of the local community.
Roger Serginson, GPI’s Regional Development Director commented:
‘ Without continued support from the surgery, The Local Health Board and Welsh Estates throughout the lengthy period required for us to deal with various pre start site issues this much needed facility and investment in Benllech would not have succeeded. I am pleased to see the development taking shape and detailed plans for relocation of the surgery have now been made with the certainty of their moving this summer’.
The construction team include:
– RL Davies – main contractor
– Summers Inman – Employers Agent/CDM Coordinator
– Clancy Consulting – M&E Advisors
The project was designed by Bournville Architects.
